Her passion of offering holistic care to her patients has led her into choosing to specialize as a General Practitioner (Family Doctor) (MRCGP-UK) and has been working as a GP since 2016.She worked as a GP partner in a busy 13000 patient GP practice in Greater Manchester and during that time, she worked as a GP for cover out of hours in the locality too. She also has experience working with the Ministry of Defence in the UK, treating service personnel and their families, providing primary care as well as being part of the ambulance emergency response crew. During her time as a GP Partner, part of her responsibilities were looking after a large community of elderly and vulnerable patients in care homes, as well as liaising with and educating care home staff in how to best respond to the residents’ medical needs. She has always supported junior staff throughout her career and has supported and supervised other health care professionals in their role developments as well as GP trainees. Her specialist interests include Women’s health, Psychiatry and Dermatology, as part of her responsibilities were to act as the dermatology specialist of her region prior to patients being referred to dermatology.
As a GP her main focus is in providing up to date, outstanding, impartial, accessible, holistic care to her patients and their families at all stages and her close ties with the UK enable her to attend conferences and seminars abroad in order to achieve this for her patient population. She attends annual updates on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, life support, women’s health, the GP update course and other relevant clinical courses. Her vision is to create a local culture within General Practice of collaborative multidisciplinary working in the community for improving care delivery to all her patients, which is the mainstay of primary healthcare.
